This group exhibit features 13 Asian-American street artists and designers based in New York City, and explores the intriguing dynamics between Asian-American artists and their relationship with American and Asian culture.

JAPPY AGONCILLO

Jappy Agoncillo is an artist from Manila, Philippines based in New York. Specializing in Illustration and Murals, Jappy cut his teeth in Manila - working his way up to eventually collab with brands like Adidas, Marvel, and Playstation, then eventually moving to NYC to pursue bigger challenges and goals. His work is characterized by a clear sense of dynamism and energy, reminiscent of the comics, cartoons, and skateboard graphics that flooded his early childhood memories.

PAOLO TOLENTINO

Paolo Tolentino is a Filipino stencil artist and muralist from England currently residing in Queens, New York. His layered portraiture riffs off popular imagery inspired by artists like Shepard Fairey and Jessica Sabogal. Fascinated by vintage travel & film posters and propaganda posters seen during the height of the Soviet Union, he tries to achieve this style by using shapes, symmetry and bold colours.

L’AMOUR SUPREME

Discovered as a teen by the seminal skateboard/punk rock/ heavy metal artist and designer Pushead, L’Amour Supreme has reinterpreted decades of comic books, action figures and monster movie references and twisted them into his own lexicon of 21st century hyper pop imagery. He continually created genre challenging work for street wear brands, MISHKA, Nike, Fools Gold, Element, Brisk Iced Tea, Sponge Bob for Nickelodeon, Topps Baseball cards, MF Doom, The Chainsmokers as well as doing visual animation for Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz Tour.

HUMBLE

Humble is the moniker of NYC-based artist Christian Kyle Harrell. Humble started his artistic journey in Richmond, Virginia as a large scale muralist. Eventually he spread his work along the east coast including Miami, Atlanta, DC, and NYC. His style is influenced by impressionist painters, the natural world, and contemporary street art and fashion, expressed in a fusing of flat, graphic and rendered styles alike.

MODOMATIC

Modomatic is a New York-based artist who creates mixed-media art that explores cross-cultural symbols and ideas. Trained as a multidisciplinary designer from Indonesia, now working in the US, his diverse influences range from culturally rich Eastern and Western art to contemporary and fantasy themes. By weaving together disparate styles and iconography, he produces art that transcends bias and spurs thoughtful exchange.

AJ LAVILLA

AJ Lavilla is a self taught visual artist born in Ilo-Ilo City, Philippines and is currently based in Queens, New York. Inspired by graffiti and street art, AJ's work can be identified by vivid colors with his use of pop culture icons and characters whilst incorporating motivational quotes from life struggle and hustle of individuals from all walks of life.

ZROPRO

ZROPRO aka ZeroProductivity aka "Z" is a Brooklyn-based artist - a photographer, graphic designer, illustrator, muralist and product designer - best known for creating the character PJ the Pigeon (2008). PJ is an anthropomorphized cartoon pigeon representing the everyday person living in the big city -  young at heart, sarcastic, and loves getting into shenanigans.

RIIISA BOOGIE

Risa Tochigi, aka Riiisa Boogie, is one half of the dynamic duo boogieREZ. Boogie is a Japanese American artist who crafts detailed imaginary through textile, nature, portraits, flowing abstractions and uniquely creative characters. Her body of work taps into the flow of the streets, nature and the vibrations of dance and culture. Her creative spirit blends the technical mastery of traditional Japanese prints with urban imagery, materials and locations.

PEACH TAO

Peach Tao is a Brooklyn-based muralist, teaching artist and illustrator. She loves creating whimsical images that evoke the feeling of having sweets on a Sunday afternoon. Born and raised in Beijing, China, she received a BFA in illustration and printmaking from Savannah College of Art and Design. Peach enjoys painting on all kinds of surfaces : from the windows , to the walls of schools, hospitals, restaurantes and more, even floors like basketball courts and the pedestrian walkways.

ROCHELLE DALIDA

Rochelle Dalida is a figurative oil painter based out of New Jersey. Her visualizations are intended to captivate her viewers with emotion as well as spark an inquisition for the narrative they tell. She has developed her painting techniques under Kevin Murphy.

RICH TU

Rich Tu is a first generation Filipino-American and award-winning designer and artist residing in Brooklyn, NY. He is a Partner and Executive Creative Director at Sunday Afternoon. Previously, Rich has held creative leadership roles at Jones Knowles Ritchie, MTV Entertainment Group, and Nike Inc. In addition, he hosts the Webby Honoree podcast First Generation Burden, which focuses on intersectionality and diversity within the creative industry, and is co-founder of the COLORFUL awards with the One Club for Creativity, dedicated to creating opportunities for early career BIPOC creatives.

ALANA TSUI

Born and raised in New Zealand, Alana Tsui holds a Bachelor of Fashion Design degree and now works in New York City. Tsui has an immaculate eye for detail and a bold visionary direction. Her passion for fine art began as a hobby in 2010 before it took off rapidly, developing into commissioned projects one after another since. To this date, Tsui has designed and created numerous bespoke murals for clients the likes of WeWork, Vans, Ecko Unltd, Oceana, Roger Dubuis and The Thompson Hotel.

OG MILLIE

Kamille Ejerta is an NYC based pop artist born and raised in Queens. After experiencing a vision threatening emergency art became a savior to her at a time when she needed hope. She now focuses on creating murals inspirational figures in her unique style. Ejerta’s works can be seen throughout the tri-state boroughs and abroad. Being both LGBTQIA+ and Asian American she is passionate about creating artwork that represents inclusion and diversity for all communities. OG Millie was also part of our opening group show Eating Me Alive, March 2023.
